What is Preenway InkEdition?
Preenway InkEdition is a digital e-paper and news publishing platform by Lancecount Consulting LLP. It turns each edition PDF into an interactive e-paper readers can browse page by page, and turns the stories inside it into a full news website with topics, authors, archives, and search.
What is a digital e-paper?
A digital e-paper is your printed edition, exactly as it went to press, rendered for the web. Pages become crisp images with zoom, pan, and touch support, and zoned stories become clickable hotspots drawn straight onto the page.
Do we have to change our print workflow?
No. You upload the same edition PDF your press already produces. The pipeline renders the pages, extracts the text, and prepares the edition for zoning and publishing — no changes to how you put the paper together.
How does a PDF become a news website?
After the pipeline processes an edition, an editor draws rectangles — zones — over the main stories. Each zone auto-extracts its text into a pre-filled article draft and becomes a clickable hotspot in the e-paper. Published articles automatically power topic pages, author profiles, monthly archives, and full-text search.
Can editions publish themselves automatically?
Yes. Queue an edition with a date and it publishes itself on schedule. Every edition moves visibly through draft, processing, ready, and published states, and failed editions are flagged, never lost.
Who in our newsroom can use the platform?
InkEdition has five roles: superadmin, admin, editor, author, and reader. Editors upload, zone, and publish; authors write and submit drafts; admins manage settings and people; readers get accounts for the optional login-to-read gate and the clip-and-share tool.
